Probably American, dated a1836. Labeled as Mr. and Mme. Bernard of Baltimore, dated 1836. The woman is signed and dated "Buffel 1836", and wears a rich green dress and gold jewelry. The man is in a military uniform. Similar frames. 5 5/8"h. 5 1/8"w. and 6 1/8"h. 5 1/2"w.
