FEDERAL CHEST OF DRAWERS.
Possibly Kentucky, early 19th century, figured walnut veneer over pine and poplar. Inlaid diamond escutcheons, matched figured veneer drawer fronts, eagle brasses and reeded stiles. Exhibits an old, dry finish. Minor imperfections. 41"h. 39"w. 19"d. Condition reportCondition: Brasses old but not original to chest, one bail missing. Replaced drawer beading. Minor veneer loss. A backsplash may have been added at one point. Legs, sides, & top are solid walnut. Drawers are poplar with walnut veneer. Poplar is the secondary wood. Locks are present in the third & forth drawers. There do not appear to be any repairs or replacements to the drawer sides & bottoms.
