CHINESE PALE GREEN CARVED JADE TABLE SCREEN

Early 20th century Chinese pale green carved jade table screen with elaborate carved wood base. Scene depicts a deer in the forest with a flying crane. No apparent signature. Condition good. Jade measures 5 1/2" high by 4" wide by 1/2" deep. Measures in frame 8 " high by 5" wide by 3 1/2" deep. See images. (Two images (the first and third) make the jade appear an odd color. They are not the true color. The other images are color accurate on our computer. (Updated 8/25/08 - numerous changes to images in an attempt to get a truly accurate color. Unfortunately, it is still not 100%. The images showing a dollar bill have a bluetone background, they were shot on white paper. The image with a brown background was shot on a piece of standard corrugated card board. All of the new images were shot in regular daylight under shade or overcast sky. The jade is a pale green with a light tan beige-yellow cast. The images that look yellow are too yellow, some are too white. None of the images are truly picking up the nuances of the color.)
