oil on mahogany panel, signed "L. de Koningh / 1856" in field to left of gentleman's portrait. In matching carved wooden frames. Leonard de Koningh was born in London in 1810. He studied under his father, also an artist, before eventually landing a professorship of Arts in the city of Dordrecht. SS 8.5" x 10.25"; DOA 16.75" x 15" The 40 year collection of Dr. John Wessels, Durham, NC.
