Karl Albert Buehr (IL, 1866 - 1952), Landscape,
oil on board, signed lower left " K. A. Buehr," behind glass in wooden frame. The son of German immigrants, Buehr pursued an art career and became one of America's foremost early impressionists. The advent of the First World War ended Buehr's French idyll, whereupon he joined the faculty at the Art Institute of Chicago. A well-received artist, Buehr exhibited at the Corcoran, the National Academy of Design, the Paris Salon, the St. Louis Exposition of 1904 and at the Pan-American Exposition of 1915.
