Two Illuminated Manuscript Music Leaves,
likely Italian, ca. 14th - 15th centuries, gold, blue, red and black inks on both sides of vellum sheets. In gold-painted, two-sided wooden frames. SS 20.5" x 15"; DOA 22.5" x 17" Included is a 1949 letter stating that these manuscripts were part of a larger grouping brought to the U.S. from Switzerland in 1913 by a Mrs. Albert Fulton. A second document details the disbursement of the other leaves acquired. Buyers included Harvard, Bryn Mawr College and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
