Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Japanese Pitcher,
beautiful hand-hammered finish with applied turtles and chased willow branches, an organic, gourd-like form, ca. 1873-1891 Tiffany & Co. sterling hallmark to base, pattern number 5466 (ca. 1879), order number 3447, 3.75 pt. capacity. This pitcher is from the "mature" phase of Tiffany's much admired and sought-after silver in the Japanese style. (see Tiffany Silver by Charles H. Carpenter, Jr. with Mary Grace Carpenter. pgs. 192-198). 22.55 troy ozs. 7 5/8"
