Chattanooga Tenn.", 11 in., [extensive repairs, repainted surface (over brown glaze), other chips, several long cracks;] one Albany slip glaze, incised "J" on shoulder, hand whittled oak stopper, 11-1/4 in., [large rim chip, other minor flaws.] Provenance: The Estate of the Late Thomas W. (Jack) and Dr. Frances Bernard Overall, Greeneville, Tennessee The 1880 U.S. Census lists a Samuel B. McCorkle as a grocer living in Hamilton County (Chattanooga), Tennessee.
