surround, yellow pine, poplar and maple(?) with multiple paint histories, reeded stepped cornice over reeded pilasters centering fan carved panel, attributed to Tennessee, early 19th century, 69-1/4 x 83 x 6-1/2 in., opening 43 x 55 in. One pilaster capital replaced, losses to reeded elements on cornice, other abrasions, wear, chipping and paint losses throughout, central panel dry scraped.
