Madonna with infant Jesus, young shepherd with sheep, three onlooking angels, unsigned, oil on canvas, Spanish or Italian School, 17th or 18th century, 56-1/4 x 44-1/8 in.; gilt wood and composition panel style frame. Restretched on old stretcher, lined, accretion right center, areas of overcleaning, bloom, stretcher marks, crackle, cupping, hole upper left edge, retouch throughout mostly in background and Mary's robe, some in face and bottom affecting 60 percent of surface; frame resurfaced, abrasions, loss to composition.
