(David Davidovich Burliuk, Russian/American, 1882-1967), nude in a bathtub, signed lower right "Burliuk", oil on canvas board, 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 in.; gilt wood frame with velvet mat. Grime, glued to verso of mat; frame with abrasions. Provenance: The Estate of the Late Frank Banker, New York, New York; by Descent to Consignor Frank Banker owned a summer home in Quoug, Long Island, called "Seven Barns". Here he befriended the community of Long Island post impressionist artists, including David Burliuk. He made frames for these artists and was often gifted with works of art of which this is one.
