Description: Includes: Typed manuscript. Retained copy of proposed announcement of Robert Minor's appointment as Southern Editor of The Worker and Daily Worker. The announcement includes Minor's curriculum vitae as well as a defense of him against the "gross unfairness" of the suggestions made by the New York Times and others. 3 pp. * Typed letter. Retained copy of a letter to "Johnny" [likely, John Gates, editor of the Daily Worker] dated August 1, 1945, relating to Minor's appointment as Southern Editor. The letter includes interesting reminiscences by Minor of his experiences in the early 30's as a party functionary in southern Illinois and the Chicago-Illinois steel sections. 3 pp. * Guiding Lines on Questions of Post-War Reconstruction. Typed manuscript drafted by the Central Committee of the British Communist Party, December, 1942. 7 pp. Heavily annotated with questions and comments by Robert Minor. * Typed letter. Retained copy of a letter to Charles G. Ross of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, dated March 18, 1945, relating to changes he would like to have made in the text of his article for the series, "What Are We Fighting For?" 2 pp. Together with a copy of the article as it was printed by the Post-Dispatch. * History of a Most Legitimate Political Party. Remarks on William Z. Foster's New History of the Communist Party of the United States. Typed manuscript with numerous revisions and insertions in Minor's hand. 9 pp. * Miscellaneous notes by Minor on the leadership of Browder, Minor's mistake in not recognizing at the time Browder's "incorrect and un-Marxian line pursued since January 1944," and the defection of Bundez. 13 pp., 6 of which are heavily annotated typescripts while the balance are handwritten. Together 6 items.
