New York, November 13, 1952. 3 pp. Together 3 items.Robert Minor gave up a highly successful career as a newspaper cartoonist (hired by the New York World in 1911, he was at the time the highest paid cartoonist in the United States) to devote himself to the Communist movement with which he was associated from 1919 until his death in 1952. He served as editor of The Daily Worker (1928-30), Party Commissar in the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War, member of the Central Committee and acting General Secretary (1940). For many years he was in charge of "Negro Work" for the Party.
