Title: Archive of items related to the defense of Rosalio Negrete
Author: [United Front Negrete Defense] Description: Archive of 16 small broadsides, letters, memoranda, meeting minutes and other documents relating to the efforts of the Revolutionary Workers League and the United Front Committee for Negrete Defense to obtain the release of Rosalio Negrete from a Spanish jail. The RWL supported the POUM during the Spanish Civil War and Oehler and his traveling companion and fellow RWL worker, Russell Blackwell a/k/a Rosalio Negrete, were in Barcelona for the May 1937 uprising. Oehler was arrested and held incommunicado for a month before being allowed to leave the country. Negrete was not as fortunate.
