Dated Aug. 1784, the same month and year as the publication of the account of Cook's third (and final) voyage. Portrait of a young man - "(A man), who resided for some time in this country, and (who) seems to have taken great pains to gain information on this subject, is persuaded, that the true Kamatschadales are a people of great antiquity, and have for many ages inhabited this peninsula; and that they are originally descended from the mongolians..."
