Description: Original ink and watercolor illustration after John Webber. 10¾x14¾, image is 8¾x14½.One of the earliest student drawings from Cook's Third Voyage. Dated Aug. 1784, the same month and year as the publication of the account of Cook's third (and final) voyage. This landscape shows a family of three in front of their hut - "The dwellings of these people were seated close to the beach. They consist simply of a sloping roof, without any side-walls, composed of logs, and covered with grass and earth."
