First Edition in English.Important first-hand account of the conquest of Mexico written by a companion of Cortés, first published in Spanish in 1632, but not appearing in English until the present edition. Diaz del Castillo began the work in 1568, in response to Gomara's 1552 account of the conquest, which he felt gave to much credit to Cortes.
