Title: Amérique Septentrionale dressée sur les Relations les plus modernes des Voyageurs et Navigateurs ou se remarquent les Etats Unis
Author: De Vaugondy, Robert Description: Copper-engraved map, hand-colored in outline. 48x58.7 cm. (18¾x23").North America with inset of the Northwest including Nouvelle Albion, Strait of Anian, and other various fantastic possibilities of a Northwest Passage (Partie Nord-Ouest de l'Amerique, 18x17.5 cm.), perpetuating the fallacies of Fonte. Wheat notes it as "incredibly obsolete geography." The most significant feature of the map, however, is that the newly independent United States is named, and extends to the Mississippi, with its border re-engraved. This is a re-issue of the 1750 map, with the U.S. added. Pedley 450; Wheat Transmississippi 129.
