Title: Autograph Letter from Jack London to Editor of the Century Magazine
Author: London, Jack
Description: Single sheet, 10 lines on recto only. 6x9.Jack London's autograph letter dated "Sep 5, 1904" to Century Magazine editor Richard Watson Gilder: "My Dear Mr. Gilder: - Yes, I'll be glad to send you a short story somewhere along in the next few months - & not all 'White Terror" either. I am getting from 8 to 10 cts per word for my short stories now. Is this agreeable? Sincerely yours, Jack London." Century Magazine serialized a somewhat bowdlerized version of "The Sea Wolf" from Jan. to Nov., 1904, but did not publish London again until "All Gold Caņon" appeared in the Nov., 1905 issue.

Condition report

Chip to right margin taking the "e" out of "be" in the first line of text; letter has been laid down on archival tissue and laminated. Quite clean and legible.
