Author: London, Jack Description: Single sheet, 10 lines on recto only. 6x9.Jack London's autograph letter dated "Sep 5, 1904" to Century Magazine editor Richard Watson Gilder: "My Dear Mr. Gilder: - Yes, I'll be glad to send you a short story somewhere along in the next few months - & not all 'White Terror" either. I am getting from 8 to 10 cts per word for my short stories now. Is this agreeable? Sincerely yours, Jack London." Century Magazine serialized a somewhat bowdlerized version of "The Sea Wolf" from Jan. to Nov., 1904, but did not publish London again until "All Gold Caņon" appeared in the Nov., 1905 issue. Heading: Place Published: Oakland Publisher: Date Published: Sept. 5, 1904 Condition reportChip to right margin taking the "e" out of "be" in the first line of text; letter has been laid down on archival tissue and laminated. Quite clean and legible.
