Eighth Printing, Published September, 1904.Nicely inscribed by the author on the verso of the front free endpaper: "Here's to the man on the trail! May his grub hold out, may his dogs keep their legs, may his matches never miss fire. Jack London. Glen Ellen, California, August 23, 1905."
