Description: [vi], 193, [3] + [4] ad pp. Frontispiece portrait of London from a photograph by Arnold Genthe. Brown boards decorated in black, blue and red. Jacket. First Edition.Superb copy in the rare dustjacket of a notoriously fragile book - the only London first edition bound in pictorial paper over boards rather than cloth. Jacket front panel features the same Arnold Genthe portrait photograph as used for the frontispiece in the book. BAL 11977; Sisson & Martens, p. 97.

Condition report

Minor wear to edges and corners; half-inch vertical slit at top of spine with no loss of material, else fine in very presentable original jacket with some staining and general soiling; cello tape mends to verso closing short tears; 2 very small chips at top and bottom of front panel at spine edge, jacket near very good.
