Author: London, Jack Description: x, 256 + [3] ad pp. 7x4¾, maroon cloth with white cloth spine, front cover lettered in white with white border around lettering, spine in black, top edge gilt. First Edition, First Issue.Inscribed and signed by Jack London shortly after publication on front free endpaper: "Dear Janet & Frank: With Christmas greetings and much love from 'Jack & Charmian,' Jack London. Oakland, Calif., Christmas, 1906." Continuing on pastedown: "And Christmas a year ago we were with you! And next Christmas?" Inscribees unknown, but Christmas, 1905, the Londons spent in Boston before leaving December 27 on their Jamaica honeymoon. A scarce title, especially so inscribed. Only 920 copies printed.
