Blue cloth lettered in white on front cover and spine, cover illustrated in dark blue, orange, and white, top edge gilt. First Edition, First Issue.One of apparently only two known copies of the first issue with uncorrected Century Company copyright line with "1904" only on integral title page; second issue copies have copyright notice reading "Copyright 1903, 1904" on cancel title page. BAL notes that "the only [other] example located (in HEH) is London's personal copy." (HEH = Henry E. Huntington Library). BAL 11882; Sisson & Martens, p. 19.
