EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY LOUIS-XV PROVINCIAL BEECHWOOD COMMODE. The shield-shaped rectangular top over a conforming bombe case with two long drawers and a wide scalloped apron flanked by oval panels to sides and resting on four leaf-carved cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet, carved throughout with trailing acorns on branches, leaves and tied ribbons H: 34.5" W: 51" D: 25" *Condition: Top is a later replacement. Overall mite bites throughout the piece. Top sustains some water marks and scratches. May have been refinished, but even if so, not recently. The circular panel on the right side of the piece has been restored, as evidenced by a 2" replaced strip. Said panel is also missing a 2" strip. Overall wear, consistent with age and use. *Est.
