Middle Tennessee banquet table end. Cherry with poplar secondary wood. Kidney shaped front with rectangular fold-down leaf, apron with finely figured flamed cherry veneer, and five ring-turned and tapered legs ending in ball and spike feet. Fifth leg swings out to support the leaf. Condition: old refinish, replaced hinges, some staining and shrinkage cracking to top, scattered scratches and chips to legs, some areas of dry, cracked veneer, old patches where hinges have been moved. 29 3/4" height x 46" width x 45" depth. Circa 1825. Provenance: Thompson family of Glen Leven Plantation, Nashville.
