2 paint decorated child's chairs, grain painted to simulate rosewood with stenciled scroll and floral decorations. Curved, slat backs with caned seats and turned legs joined by stretchers. Condition: original surface with light to moderate wear; later caning, smaller chair with some repaired cracks to seat. Heights: 23" and 27 1/2". Circa 1870. Provenance: Thompson family of Glen Leven Plantation, Nashville.
