Oil painting W. Bromley (British, fl. 1835 -1888)

English Victorian landscape signed W. Bromley (William Bromley, British, active 1835-1888) in lower left corner. Oil on canvas in gilt frame. Scene depicts Victorian gentleman assisting lady with small child in background. Appears to retain the original frame. Condition - Small tear & loss of paint to bottom center of canvas and indention near center of painting. Canvas measures 20 1/8" H x 30 1/8" W & 32" H x 42" W framed. 19th century. Note - William Bromley exhibited extensively in London, including the Royal Academy. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and the New Watercolour Society.
