Colored stippled engraving, " Le Dejeune ", lower margin, " A Paris chez Bonnet rue St. Jacques." Very good condition with scattered foxing to margins. 10 3/8" x 15 3/4" sheet. Matted and hinge mounted. Late 18th century. France. 2nd item - Colored stippled engraving titled, " L'Abandon", "Dessine par St. Va An X on 1802 Grave par Payen". Very good condition with scattered foxing to margins, old creases to upper right margin edge, water spot to lower left margin edge. 11 7/8" x 15 1/2" sheet. Matted and hinge mounted. France. Circa 1802. Note - Margaret Lindsley Warden notes in her typed inventory this engraving was purchased by Dr. John Berrien Lindsley of Nashville during a European tour of the 1850s. These engravings were shown at an art exhibition in June 1945 at 1806 E. Belmont Circle. Several of Margaret's engravings were later exhibited at the Parthenon Gallery in 1954, but it is unknown if this engraving was part of this exhibit. Additional note - Ms. Warden had the LeDejeune engraving with a value of $250 on old type written rinventory notes. Lindsley Warden estate.
