WADE & BURNHAM'S VIENNA BURNER ON A BRASS AND MARBLE STAND LAMP, kerosene period, an altered transitional lamp from heavy oils to kerosene, a design change that closed the top of the font and added a standard No. 1 threaded fitting permitting the burning of kerosene. This lamp is constructed of stamped and cast brass elements and marble. The No. 1 burner is marked on the thumbwheel "WADE & BURNHAM'S / PATENT / APRIL 6 1858" and is accompanied by a custom contemporary chimney. This lamp includes a stamped brass 4 1/2" prism/shade ring, 1857-1865.8 3/4" h, 4 1/2" sq base.
