Plates and text illustrations all with tissue guards. 10x6¼, original boards, paper spine labels, pages edges untrimmed. First Edition.Very rare presentation copy, uncut in original boards, of Dibdin's major work on English libraries and book collecting. Dibdin's second "Bibliographical Tour", after his popular France & Germany published in 1821. The present volume of interest for the " . . . delightful account of an evening spent with golfers of St. Andrews." Inscribed in ink on the front free endpaper, H.W. Thomson M.D. from his old and affectionate friend, The Author, May 3, 1838. Ink ownership signature of E.R. Pfefferkorn to front pastedown. Donovan & Murdoch p. 2, Johnston p. 716.

Boards rubbed, worn, spines and joints repaired, spine of Vol. II with a few pieces of the paper covering missing; minor aging within, very good condition, a rare presentation copy in the original boards, with custom folding cloth box.
