The large Aldine anchor and dolphin device appears in the colophon of this edition. Aldus' anonymous preface to the reader contains the first printed reference to the financial partnership of Aldus and his father-in-law Andreas Torresanus. On the title leaf of the first work appears in large ornamental script: "Liber datus Conuentui Heidelbergen a Conuentu Nurmbergen, ad preces fratris Aug9 Lupff theoe professoris Anno 1517. Fr.
