Author: ** Description: 41 manuscript pages; 62 blank leaves. 7½x6, original full vellum "Old Recipe Book" in ink on front cover in an early hand.Includes numerous recipes for a wide variety of dishes including bread, preserves, almond butter, fish balls, 'Fricacey of Rabbets or Chickens', pickled vegetables, mince 'pyes', black pudding, etc. Also includes a number of elixers and cures including balms, salves, powders, syrups, etc. and notably "An Anti-pestilential Preservative" and "A Most Excellent Medicine Against the Plague. Copy from the London Journal 22d July 1721".
