Title: All's Well, that Ends Well
Author: Shakespeare, William
Description: Extract from the Second Folio. Pp 229-254. V1-Y1, 13 leaves. Comprises the last page of The Taming of the Shrew and the complete text for All's Well that Ends Well. Printed in roman and italic in two box-ruled columns, woodcut headpiece and tailpieces. (Folio) 13½x9 (344x230mm), modern full calf covers stamped in gilt, gilt dentelles, slipcase. Bound by Bayntun.Second appearance in print of Shakespeare's All's Well that Ends Well. From the second folio: with the "W" in title created by two separate V's and second word of text spelt "delivering". All's Well that Ends Well is, of course, one of Shakespeare's favorite dark comedies, in which the maid Helena pursues the ungrateful Lord Betram. No lifetime quarto edition for this play was issued and the first appearance in print was the First Folio of 1623, used as the setting copy for this edition.

Condition report

Worm hole in lower margin, some wear and soiling to upper part of outer margin, a few small spots of foxing; else very good in a fine modern binding.
