[Providence: c.1854] Broadside (275 x 205 mm). Condition: some spotting, ink notation to bottom margin. rare broadside against the candidates known as the "know nothings." Broadside lists several politicians, identifying several of them as being African-Americans (although it is unlikely that they were). McCarty calls those who vote for this ticket to be "recreants to your faith and race." A remarkable survival from the short-lived period during which the Know Nothings dominates New England politics with their nativist agenda.
