Condition: upper cover detached, spine cracked with minor losses, boards rubbed, small old sticker to upper board. early edition of paine's rights of man which defended the french revolution and led to his libel trial. The included volume refers to the libel trial in which Paine was prosecuted in London for statements in the second part of Rights of Man. Paine became a hero in France as a result. A defender of their revolution in this time and these titles were some of the most widely read books on democracy, politics, and the French Revolution.
