Jack and Jill.Seven issues of the popular children's magazine with contributions by Thompson, comprising "Adventures in Sissajig: Part Four" (December 1942), pp. 30-35; "A Visit to Jelly Bean Island" (August 1957), pp. 58-67; "The Enchanted Hat" (November 1957), pp. 58-67; "The Flask with the Golden Stopper" (September 1959), pp. 57-67; "The Bear Who Stayed Up Late" (November 1961), pp. 38-43 with "Perky Puppet Letter," inner rear cover; "The Magic Wishing Sack: A One-Act Play" (September 1962), pp. 16-20 with "Perky Puppet Letter," inner rear cover; and "Perky Puppet Letter" (April 1966), pp. 20-21 with brief mention of Thompson on "Parent Teacher Page: With Our Authors" p. 70. (Each 255 x 170 mm). Original pictorial wrappers. Condition: a few covers lightly faded. Provenance: Fred M. Meyer Collection. Thompson's contribution to Jack and Jill, published by The Curtis Publishing Co. in Philadelphia, lasted 27 years, even longer than her association with the Oz Books. Besides several serials and an occasional fairy tale, poem or play, she wrote the monthly "Perky Puppet Letter" from 1961 until 1969. Mildred Boyle, one of the original illustrators of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House Books, provided the pictures for "Adventures in Sissajig."
