UTAH - SAVAGE, C. R. (photographer). Original albumen photograph of Park City, Utah. Park City, c. 1875. Boudoir card, (image 130 x 209 mm; card 133 x 215 mm). Inscribed in the negative "Park City. Looking South. Utah. C. R. Savage. Photo." Photographer's backmark, reading: "C. R. Savage, Art Bazar, Salt Lake City, Utah, A Complete assortment of Views of the Great West." Condition: some light toning. savage's views of early utah are quite rare as all his negatives were destroyed by fire. In this image a lumber mill in the foreground gives way to many homes and smouldering smoke stacks. Savage opened his Salt Lake City "Art Bazar" in 1875 and later took some of the earliest photographs of Zion and Yellowstone National Parks before losing all of his negatives to two fires in 1883 and 1911.
