Hand colored engraved title with pasted printed title label. 56 double-page hand-colored engraved maps, comprising 4 of England as a whole, 44 of English counties, 3 of Scotland and 5 of Ireland. Original publisher's vellum panelled in gilt, a.e.g. Condition: 9 maps with small sections excised removing unapparelled figures (Sussex, Hants, Dorset, Cornwall, Salop, Essex, Wales, Cumbria, and Islands), some browning and staining; binding slightly soiled. A fair copy of the fourth volume of Jansson's major atlas Le Nouvel Atlas covering England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.
