Condition: marginal browning and some small marginal tears, curling at lower left-hand corner, creasing at upper left-hand corner. atlas page includes continental maps of europe, asia, africa, and the americas, and a double-hemisphere world map. The map of Asia shows the shorelines of Australia and New Guinea joined, while the map of the Americas shows California as an island. The world map includes part of New Zealand, and shows North America joined to Greenland and extending to the North Pole. [And:] [STRIDBECK (THE YOUNGER), Johann]. Carta Hydrographica oder Algemeine Welte und Commercien Carte ... [Strasbourg: c. 1710]. Copper-engraved map from an atlas (310 x 195 mm). Condition: some browning, soiling, and occasional spotting, some wear to corners, marginal tearing along left-hand edge where formerly bound, two small holes above Scandinavia. finely-drawn world map framed by an engraved margin containing geographic tables, decorative foliage, and a pair of sailing ships. The map shows California as an island, and includes part of Australia, the coastline of an Antarctic continent, North Polar landmasses, and the Great Wall of China.
