Jonathan Trumbull Jr. Signed Connecticut State Document

JONATHAN TRUMBULL, JR., Governor of Connecticut. U. S. Senator, and Second Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
May 20, 1800, Partially-Printed Document Signed, "Jon(athon) Trumbull," measuring 17.5" x 14," being a Judicial document appointing 26 named judges and officials in the County of Windham, CT, Very Fine. The original large embossed official state seal of Connecticut, the paper and Trumbull's huge 5" signature are all clean, crisp and fully legible. There are separations along the folds, numerous small edge tears, and some wording along the right side is missing, none of which affects the Trumbull signature.

Jonathon Trumbull, Jr. (1740-1809) was the Son of Jonathan Trumbull, Sr., who was Governor of Connecticut, Revolutionary War Chief Justice of the Superior Court, and one of George Washington's closest friends. Jonathan Trumbull, Jr. also became Governor of Connecticut, a U. S. Senator, and the second Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives.
