1814, NJ Real Estate Document, BROWN + GARDNER

War of 1812
1814, Just a day's ride away from marauding British warships, property is purchased in Orange, New Jersey. Very Fine.
July 1, 1814, Document Signed, by one Nathaniel Brown and one Samuel A. Gardner, being a Bond obliging Brown to pay Gardner, 1 page, 7.5" x 12", Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, payments are recorded on verso. A very small tear at right margin, and a tiny amount of separation at the fold. For the sum of "three hundred and fifty four dollars Money of the United States", Brown buys from Gardner a piece of land adjacent to Brown's home, if... "Gardner or his legal representatives shall free the said land" from a widow's claim upon it.
