1796 Washington's Reply to the XYZ Affair

1790-1798, "The European Magazine," Lot of 3 Issues, Containing an Engraving of William Penn and Two Articles on George Washington, Extremely Fine.
These original 18th Century London magazines contains many interesting articles and news items of the time, plus period engravings.
1. April 1790, an account of William Penn with an engraving, and account of some old pewter cups, 2 items on the Hindus, and 2 more engravings.
2. June 1796, George Washington's answer to the House of Representatives relative to John Jay and the treaty between Britain and the United States, known in history as the XYZ Affair. There are many other articles and news items, and 2 engravings.
3. September 1798, George Washington accepts the appointment as Commander in Chief of the American Armies, an account of the British colony of New South Wales (Australia), and 2 engravings. The contents, measuring 8" x 5" are in excellent condition, still bound at the spine, with no covers. (3 items).
