Pair of Scarce Early Pewter United States Infantry Buttons c. 1815, Pair of Pewter United States Infantry Buttons, With Shanks, Choice Fine. These are small cuff size buttons, 14 mm in diameter, with a fancy letter "I" above a small star inside an oval, on the front. The back is plain, without any back marks. This pair of pewter military buttons have an excellent pedigree, as they were in a group of items that the consignor states to have acquired from the collection of the late Antiques Roadshow appraiser and Americana dealer/collector, William H.
