July 17, 1865, Navy Department General Order No. 63, Choice Mint.
Signed in print by Gideon Welles, Secretary of the Navy. 8.5" x 5.5" printed "general orders". Outlines the sentences and punishment for ten members of the Navy. Charges range from "Desertion," "Absence without leave," "Drunkenness," "Desertion in time of War," and "Using seditious language, and evincing disloyalty." Charges come with sentences ranging from 2 to 10 years in prison.
