General Ulysses Grant Multicolored Civil War Song Sheet 1864, Civil War Song Sheet, "Our Ulysses" with Portrait of Ulysses Grant, Multicolored, Choice Extremely Fine. This colorful Civil War Print, copyrighted in 1864 by Charles Magnus of New York, sports a portrait of General Ulysses Grant, in uniform, in a very ornate and patriotic frame, done in red, blue, gold, pink and orange. The song, by John Ross Dix, is titled "Our Ulysses" and is to be sung to the tune of "The Groves of Blarney." As the note at the bottom states, this print is on the back of lined notepaper, sold in units of 10 sheets. This 8" x 5" sheet has some trivial toning along the edges, but has not been folded and is still crisp and bright. Considering that this is a sheet of stationery, it is amazing that it has survived in such choice condition. A wonderful Civil War relic. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
