Rare 1851 Alabama Doctor's Bill for Treating Slaves

May 9, 1851, Manuscript Doctor's Bill for Treating Slaves Belonging to the Stephen Palmer Estate in Alabama, Very Fine.
This original, handwritten, 4.5" x 7.5" document is a bill from Dr. J.G. Bythewood, covering treatment and medicines provided during 1849 and 1850 to slaves belonging to the Stephen Palmer estate, managed by the executor, J.L. Benson. A notation at the bottom signed by Dr. Bythewood indicate he had received payment in full on May 9, 1851. The only clue to the location provided by this bill, is the item, "Visit to Negro man from Allenton ..." A Google search revealed that Dr. J.G. Bythewood (1811-1872) is buried, along with his family members, in a cemetery at Allenton in Wilcox County, Alabama. This document is in nice condition, age toned to a light tan color, with no significant tears or holes. An wonderful and unusual slave related document.
