"The Policy of Arming Negroes Denounced"

November 11, 1864, The Policy for Arming "Negroes" is Denounced in "THE NEW YORK HERALD", Fine.
23" x 16.5", 8 page, never been trimmed Civil War Newspaper. Age-toned throughout, with large water stain on upper right hand corner, foxing, edge splits and creases at the seams. Overall text not affected. In this edition is the "Important Rebel News" including but not limited to: "The Rebel Public Debt $1,147, 970,208", "The Policy of Arming Negroes Denounced" and "Proceedings of the Rebel Congress". Also included are Foreign Affairs, War Updates, Stock Exchange, Classifieds and News From Washington. There is one article on the front cover, the revokes a former law that allowed men in specific positions to be exempt from enlisting in the Civil War Army. It was made publicly aware on this date, that that law was no longer acceptable. An interesting newspaper that address how the Civil War affected everyone--soldier and civilian alike.
