Portraits of Presidents and Other American Notables

1700s and 1800s, Lot of 10 Portrait Prints of Presidents and American Notables, Very Fine to Extremely Fine.
These prints are mostly steel engravings on heavy paper with blank backs, mostly about 11" x 8," some apparently removed from books. The dates which appear on these prints are noted. 1. JAMES MADISON (1861). 2. M. VAN BUREN. 3. DEWITT CLINTON (1861). 4. THE FIRST CABINET (1858). 5. W. GILMORE SIMMS (1867). 6. WILLIAM WIRT (1863). 7. NOAH WEBSTER (1867). 8. ERASTUS CORNING, 9.5" X 6.5." 9. SAMUEL SEWALL, 8.5" x 5.25," depicts the subject in 1728, but this engraving was done in the 1800's. 10. JAMES RIVINGTON, 5.5" x 3.25," depicting the Loyalist New York publisher. There are small damp stains and light age toning on some of these prints, though all are otherwise in nice condition. A fine group suitable for framing and display. (10 items).
