AN AMERICAN 19TH CENTURY SAMPLER AND CHIPPENDALE STYLE MIRROR. The sampler dated 1814 by Jane A.M. Russell with embroidered flowers at top, a poem and home with animals and grandmother below, 17 in. by 20 in. in mahogany frame; plus a Chippendale style scroll-sawn mirror with carved gilt bird attached at crest, 17 in. by 30 in., c. 1850.
Condition report38: Sampler shows wear to age throughout; some dark spots upper right corner; frame with scuffs/ light scratches throughout; minor chipping at corners and mid-way right side.
Mirror shows some craquelure and some wear to age throughout; lower left corner scroll possibly reglued.
