A GROUP OF EIGHT NEW ENGLAND WINDSOR DINING CHAIRS, late 18th/early 19th century. The group includes six side chairs and two continuous-arm armchairs, all with loop backs and contoured wood seats over turned legs with H stretchers.
Condition report176: This is an assembled set; no evidence of ever being painted although some evidence of white pigment underside of most of the seats; one underside of seat stamped “J.BERNINE / N. YORK”; seat heights: 16.5 to 17.5 inches; all have repairs & restorations; no known provenance; one back spindle broken and in need of repair.
